The big thing missing from Sendy and the feature most people miss when the made the change, is the possibility to automatic send new post from any RSS into their lists.
This feature is something that has been requested a lot on the Sendy forums but it seems that is not going to happen soon, and for sure is not going to happen on the next update.
We are considering to use some of our resources to develop a solution to add RSS into campaigns but we would like to know if there is really interest and a need for this.
So before we continue we would like to invite anyone interested to join to this list. We won´t send any spam and no other promotion (even our services), this list is just for the RSS to Sendy extension.
In case you do not like to do join to the mail list, just leave a comment or join our Slack community so we can discuss it together.
Subscribed! That’s the number one feature I need to switch to Sendy. And I feel they could win so many more customers if they had this feature.
I just read through the forum thread at Sendy.co and I’m a little disappointed how Ben from Sendy is handling the whole topic. He replied in 2012 that RSS to email is on the roadmap. Yet, it’s the year 2016 and nothing has changed. Ben did not even reply in the thread (!) to give a status update. I would have been completely fine if they simply had said that they’re not planning on introducing this feature. No problem at all. But simply ignoring (!!) 40+ customers (!!!) who are looking forward to this feature is a big no go. Especially when you leave them hanging for more than four years.
Hi Samy!
That is the main reason we decided to move forward on this.
I ask him before to setup this list and start working on the project and the only thing he told me was: “it wont be on the next update”.
Anyway, we are on it now so no problem. :)
Thank you for the support!
Would switch from Feedburner and MailChimp to Sendy if this was implemented. Have 30,000+ email subscribers across both platforms and dislike them both but need the RSS to email functionality.
So much yes – Sendy is fantastic – have deployed it for two people before but this feature is really missing!
Update on this feature?
With the latest update from Sendy.co and the connection with Zapier, it is no longer a “critical” feature so we are focusing our efforts on adding more methods of sending to the app. More providers using SMTP and API connections.
Does this mean we are still out of luck for some kind of RSS to email solution for Sandy?
It is easy to setup something like that with Zapier and so far there is not so many people on the list that justify a development on this at the moment.
Not saying it won´t came in the future but it is not a critical feature for us right now.
