Are the emails included on the price?
Yes! On all the shared Sendy Host plans (Blogger, Startup and Business) the emails are included and are sent by our mailservers. On the private Sendy Host you will need to use your own email provider.
How often do you backup?
We do hourly backups on a separate server (amazon S3) and we also create another extra backup every week and we store this one on a different account on amazon S3 every week, just in case.
We store the latest 8 days of the hourly backups and the latest 6 months of the weekly backups. You data is completely secure. This applies to all the accounts on shared and private SendyHost.
Which Mail Service do you use?
We use a combination of Amazon SES and Mailgun (and we used to use Mandrill). Your account can be set on any of those services and can be moved from one into another with no further notification. Our server is ready to use SparkPost and other providers so we can change this at any time. You won´t need to worry about it.
Can I use my own SMTP server?
Yes, you can use your own SMTP provider as long as is one of these: Amazon SES, Mailgun, SparkPost, Critsend, Pepipost and Mandrill. Sendgrid is not available at the moment but it will be added soon. If you require any other email provider please contact us.
Can I use my own domain to send?
Shared SendyHost is already configured so your emails will be sent and signed by our services at sendyhost.com. If you want, you can add your own SMTP server to your account so your emails will be send from your domain. Please open a support ticket to make this change.
On a private Sendy Host you will need an email provider so you will use your own domain for all your emails.
Is SendyHost better than mailchimp?
It is different. We offer a different product that applies to some users that cannot afford the huge costs from Mailchimp and that they not need all the features mailchimp offer. You can read this blog post for more information on the subject.
Can I use my RSS for sending campaigns automatically?
No, Sendy does not offer that feature and while it is said is going to be incorporated soon, it is not available yet. If you really need an automatic RSS deliver to email, you should use another solution like Mailchimp.
Do you offer Autoresponders?
Yes, we have all the features Sendy have. This includes autoresponders, open and click tracking, beautiful reports, API access, etc. You can also use any of the plugins and integrations that Sendy have.
What is the difference between the shared hosting and the private hosting?
The main difference is that on the Shared Sendy Host you share the same server and app with other users and you have some limits on emails and brands.
On the private Sendy Host you will have your own server with your own Sendy install just for yourself. You can do whatever you want on it, even you can resell space on it to other clients if you want too!
What do I need to send emails using the shared SendyHost?
Nothing. All the emails are included and ready to send as soon as you get your account activated. Just signup to one of our shared plans and we will review and setup your brand and account so you can start sending!
What do I need to get a Private SendyHost?
You will need a Sendy License and at least one email provider (Amazon SES recommended) and that´s all. We will help you to choose the best provider and to setup your account.
Can I use my own domain to login on the platform?
Only if you use a private SendyHost. We will configure the Private SendyHost for a subdomain on *.sendyhost.com unless you prefer to use your own subdomain.
If you use your own subdomain, you will need to provide the SSL certificate so the SendyHost is secure. We will help you on the whole process.
Will other users affect my delivery rates?
The Shared Sendy host server has been prepared to handle all the users and emails but if a lot of users decided to send theirs emails at the same time, the send rate could be lower. If you are worry about this, you should consider to get a Private SendyHost so your delivery rate will only depends on your own mail server provider.
Will other users affect my reputation or complain rate?
No. On the shared SendyHost we monitor all clients and we will remove all that does not comply with the spam policy. We have setup rules to make sure that no bad users affect the others on the Shared SendyHost. So no, your complain rate will be independent for your brand.
If you still has concern about this, you could get a private SendyHost so no one will affect your rates and delivery.
What is the spam policy?
At SendyHost we hate SPAM as much as you do. We won´t tolerate any account that send emails that can considered SPAM. The spam policy explains the limits and what you need to comply to use SendyHost.
If a client fails to comply with the spam policy their account will be suspended (or even terminated) until we can understand what happened.
